Lower Bann Environmental Strategy

The Lower Bann Advisory Committee has produced an Environmental Management Strategy for the river, which lays out the aim, objectives and management actions.

Aim

The Strategy highlights the need for, and actions to ensure the conservation, sustainable development and integrated management of the Lower Bann corridor for the long-term benefit of the environment, local people and visitors to ensure the long-term integrity of the Lower Bann River as an environmental resource

Objectives and Management actions have been developed under the following headings:

Fisheries

Landscapes

Natural physical features

Archaeology

Water quality

Water levels and river flows

Recreation management

Education and public awareness
