Lough Neagh Management Strategy officially launched
Dermot Nesbitt, the DOE Minster, launched the Lough Neagh Management Strategy (LNMS) in Stormont on Wednesday 19th June 2002. The Strategy is a result of several years work by the Lough Neagh Advisory Committee (LNAC). It was produced through wide consultation with interested parties and local people with an interest in the Lough Neagh Wetlands. The Strategy sets out recommendations for the future integrated and sustainable management of the environmental, economic and social resources of the area. It is anticipated that statutory agencies, interest groups, local community groups, landowners and individuals will work in partnership to implement the management recommendations.
